Madame Flavour Infuser Pods are made from a specially created biodegradable material called 'Tea-Road' a woven mesh filter derived from corn starch' of natural origin, and made in one place only in the world - Japan. It is biodegraded completely by micro-organisms in the soil by hydrolysis.

Tea-Road is certified with the "Greenpla" tick. "Greenpla" is a trademark of the Biodegradable Plastic Society, a not-for-profit organisation engaged in study, research and development to promote the development of plastics which are made from non-petroleum resources, and are biodegraded.

In normal soil conditions the pods breakdown fully in two to three years. In warm, moist conditions the process speeds up to approx 90 days.

We do not suggest putting your infuser pods in worm farm compost, as the worms cannot 'eat' the soilon particles, which need to first be broken down by microbes, so they will stay intact for the longer period.
