Madame English Breakfast title

I’ve blended my favourite teas from three of the finest Ceylon Estates I visit to create a fresh, full-flavoured start to your day.

This special blend marks my pilgrimage to Sri Lanka, following in the footsteps of my parents who met and married in Colombo in 1962. My adventure-seeking mother had joined the French Trade Commission. My dashing father, 17 years her senior, was enjoying the last days of the Raj: cocktails at the tennis club, white dinner suits and a bachelor pad overlooking the ocean.

As a child, I watched my Father’s films of bejewelled dancers and elephants with wonder. This special blend has shades of my English Breakfast but is a little stronger – a little maltier.The leaf teas are from my favourite Ceylon estates.

What’s in it

Ceylon leaf tea from Kenilworth Estate, St Claire Estate, Ceciliyan Estate, Inverness Estate and Imboolpitiya Estate, depending on best in season.

How to get the most out of it

Place pyramid in your favourite cup. Pour in fresh water just below boiling. Infuse for a good 3-5 minutes. Watch the leaves unfurl as you anticipate that first satisfying sip.

Pure Ceylon Tea

Unlike other teas bought at random auction based on low prices, I select Madame Flavour Ceylon teas personally, based on my favourite seasonal flavours from five particular estates. Over a dozen trips now, I have visited these estates in the high-grown mountainous country of Nuwara Eliya, which takes many hours of windy roads to reach.
